Be gentle, it’s my first

YouTube video. My chins and I star in this clip (on the Sunday Salon page). I’m reading my poem “When I Knew Everyone on Avenue A,” which is also the working title of my one-woman show in-progress premiering in February. Video shot after last week’s reading with lots of chatter in the background.

Topped off by a fun reading at Sunday Salon last night. Here’s a pic the girlfriend took of me on stage.

Lots of Things

September 19, 2009 Leave a comment

Today is my annual 29th birthday. I woke up early to watch the sunrise with the girlfriend. Low-key festivities tonight with friends may involve pizza and sugar-free Red Bull. There is a rumor of cupcakes. I’m quite pleased.

More cool:

  • Check out the September issue of GO Magazine. I’m the mag editor and also did some writing.
  • I’m reading this Sunday, 7 pm at Sunday Salon alongside Billy Lombardo, Ru Freeman and Wesley Yang.
  • I have two poems in the latest issue of Ping Pong literary journal, for which I’ll be reading on November 7th at Happy Ending in NYC. Details forthcoming.
  • Oh, and on February 21, 2010, I’ll be doing a reading of my in-progress one-woman show tentatively titled When I Knew Everyone on Avenue A at Bluestockings. Part memoir/part poetry, a personal, irreverent take on NYC in the 1990’s. More info. soon.

Hey, it may be September 1, but it’s time for the online poetry journal October Babies.  I’m honored to have a poem up on the site.  Many thanks to Susan Scutti for inviting me to submit.
